IntelliScore Polyphonic : Audio file to MIDI
Dear Sir/Madam:
I just bought a IntelliScore Polyphonic, but I don't know how to use it. Could you please tell me how to convert a audio file from a regular audio CD to MIDI file? And how do I remove the vocal from the audio CD so that I can sing along with like what I do with the Karaoke disc.
Thanks
Calvin

Please give the answers
RE: Audio file to MIDI
To filter out the vocals you need a Karaoke filtering program or a good eq to filter out the vocal range. It is really a bit of magic though as it depends on the song as to how well the vocals can be filtered out. Sometimes it helps too to run the left and right channels out of phase as this will cancel out the mono content more effectively and vocals are usually mono or l/r equally.
RE: Audio file to MIDI
Actually, intelliScore will do the process described by ElvesBrew. In the Project Editor, go to the Audio tab. In the Stereo frame, select the Cancel radio button. This will help remove sounds from the center of the stereo image. Often, vocals are mixed to stereo center, so this can help remove the vocals.
