I've tried ripping a DVD with following copressors Divx Mpeg-4 (low motion
and fast motion),
Xvid Mpeg4, Divx 5.2.1 codec and x264
Though I tried with several different combinations of resolution,target
sizes and bitrates I allways get output files at around 5000 bps most of
which my computer cant play properly. The output files for a movie combined
are 3GB (too large, isnt it?)

1) How can i get output files at around 1000bps so that i can play them at
my computer and wich compressor should i use?
(my computer is 4 years old: RAM:512, AMD 2400)
2) Is it possible to create just one file for the whole movie and how?
