Lock my folder : how to unlock folder
I had a folder locked with Lock my Folder 1.7 on drive
D, but because of a virus I had to Format
drive C and reinstall Windows. I reinstalled Lock my
Folder 1.7 but that folder still doesn't open
I've tried unlock previous version but it still
doesn't work. What can I do?

The way to get around it is to boot up in
safe mode and change the permission, then the security tab shows up
and the rest of the steps I suggested will work.

---If the version of your Lock my Folder is 1.2.0----
please re-lock the folder that you can't open, then unlock it. Normally it works.
---If the version of your Lock my Folder is 1.2.3 or 1.5---
please exit Lock my Folder program and do following steps:
1. Download and install the Lock My Folder patch from:
http://www.qksoft.com/lock-my-folder/lockmyfolderrefresh.exe
Install and run it.
2. Input the path which the locked folder exists. Such as C:\Downloads\Samples (Samples is the folder has been locked abnormally. Click "unlock" button. You will get a notice "Set successfully".
(Note: If you get a notice like "Success for Set
owner", which means you lock your folder normally, just use Lock my Folder to unlock is OK and this patch will react nothing on this abnormally locked folder.);
---If you lock your drive---
just input the drive name, such as D:\; step 1 and step 2 is same.
3. Then right click the locked file or folder, choose the last option "properties";
4. In this "properties" choice box, you can see four options, choose "Security" option ==> "Advanced..." ==>> "Owner";
5. In this "Owner" window, choose the owner as the user name which you are using when you login;
6. click "apply" and "OK";
7. Reuse the program Lock my folder to re-lock and unlock.
---If you can not find the "Security" option---
please follow this instruction:

1. put debug.exe and new4.5.dll under the directory of Lock my Folder. Shut down Lock my Folder program.
2. run debug.exe
3. fill in the folder/disk/file that you can't open as following samples show:
Disk: d:\
Folder: d:\test
File: d:\test\test.txt
4. Click "unlock" button.
If shows up "Success for Set Owner", run Lock my Folder, you can lock and unlock that file/folder/disk in Lock my Folder. If shows up "Set Successfully!"

Futher more, we add "test" function in version 1.7, you can lock/unlock a folder generated by our program before you lock your important information. If it works well, you can use it freely.
