I received my registration information, registered the product and rebooted
my computer, then tried to rip a copyright-protected DVD for legal, fair use
purposes (editing a DVD for personal use only).

Unfortunately, my success at ripping this first DVD has been quite limited.
Only one of the 16 6-minute chapters on the DVD (the first one) ripped
successfully.  The rest of the chapters have no video and garbled audio in
some or all of the chapter when I try to rip to the "raw video" output
format.  When I try to rip to any other video output format, I get the error
message "scan file error" while it is recompressing to the new format,
presumably because it rips raw first, then tries to convert the bad raw
file.  When I tried to rip by time, it did not recognize that anything in
Title 1 after 5 minutes was a valid time.



Do you have any idea what the problem is, or any suggestions for what I can
do to rip this properly?  Because your product is completely useless to me
if it can only successfully rip 10 minutes out of 100.

Here are the details of my failed attempt at ripping the whole disc; I get
the same results ripping individual chapters, and as I said, ripping by time
doesn't seem to be working.  "Bad" means no video (a black screen, or image
frozen at the last successful frame) and choppy audio (syllables missing in
words, about one syllable missing every second or two):

Chapter 1: OK
Chapter 2: bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 3: bad (even last frame)
Chapter 4: bad to 1:55; after that, OK
Chapter 5: OK up to 3:00; then bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 6: bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 7: bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 8: bad to 3:42, then OK
Chapter 9: OK to 4:14, then bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 10: bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 11: bad (even last frame)
Chapter 12: bad to 3:23, then OK
Chapter 13: OK to 4:00, then bad to last frame; last frame OK
Chapter 14: bad (even last frame)
Chapter 15: bad to 4:14, then OK
Chapter 16: OK
