While hiking over the weekend, I came across a garter snake that had BLUE eyes. Not light blue (like it was ready to shed its skin) ,but bright royal blue eyes.  It was beautiful, but unusual. Was this a mutation? Variation? NOT a garter snake?   Anything you could tell me would be helpful. Thanks.
