Compared to laser scanners, CCD barcode scanners are extremely durable, require less maintenance and are easier to use. The CCD scanners consume little power and work under most lighting conditions. The CCD barcode scanners presented here all have built-in decoders and can auto-discriminate several bar code symbologies. They can receive their power from the PC keyboard so no external power supply is required.
