Contour CubeMaker generates microcubes for end users using XML-scripts. Contour microcube is a multidimensional database that contains both data and metadata that describe user interface layout. Microcube data is stored in compressed form; so it is very compact and can be easily transferred via Internet or attached to an e-mail message. Any application or web page powered with ContourCube software component can provide interactive analysis capabilities and on-line and printable reports from microcubes. Contour CubeMaker is a command line application that requires the path to microcube generation script file and uses some optional parameters. A microcube generation script is an XML-file describing the data source, SQL-query and microcube template. CubeMaker processes query to the database, creates new microcube according to the template and fills it with data obtained from the SQL-query.
