River Past Audio Converter is River Past's award winning audio converter and extractor.

Convert from almost any audio format to WAV, MP3, WMA, or audio-only AVI. We support a variety of input formats, including the standard WAV, MP3, WMA, AIFF, RealAudio, and the not-so-standard OGG, AIFF, and Unix Audio.

Extract audio from the standard AVI, ASF, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, RealMedia, and the not-so-standard QuickTime MOV and MPEG-4.

If the file format exists, we probably support it.

Ease of Use
A lot of effort went into River Past Audio Converter's user interface. We do our best to make it easy to use yet powerful.

A simple file list and the audio setting panel compose the interface of River Past Audio Converter. You can add multiple files with the "Add" button, or drag files and/or folders into the list. We will parse all the files in the folders and their child folders and add all the media files into the list.

Input Flexibility
River Past Audio Converter supports a wide range of input file formats, including most common audio formats and video formats.

We even support Apple's QuickTime files (.mov and .qt). This is the only software which can extract audio from MOV to MP3.

Starting 4.0, we support RealAudio and RealMedia files.

Output Control
You have the full control over the output file format. For WAV, MP3 and audio-only AVI, you can define the codec, sample rate, channel, resolution, and bitrate. For WMA, you can choose from a list of pre-defined profiles, targeted at different usages.

Hardware
River Past Audio Converter is tested to run on any PC with a Pentium III/Celeron CPU of 500 MHz or above. A sound card is required.

It may perform on a PC with lesser spec. However, we will not provide technical support if your PC is below the minimum specification we provided.

Operation Systems
River Past Audio Converter supports Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

DirectX
River Past Audio Converter requires DirectX 8.0 or above. We strongly recommend that you always use the latest the latest DX (currently 9.0b) because it provides better stability and performance.

WMF
For WMA output, you must have Windows Media Format runtime 9 installed. We provide it in a separate download package.

OGG filters
For OGG Vorbis output, you must have Tobias' OGG Vorbis DirectShow filters installed.
