Press Baron is a game of skill and strategy.

There are 4 newspapers in the game and initially you bid for the one you wish to manage and edit against 3 other Press Barons played by the computer. Once you have obtained your weekly newspaper you must edit it with appropriate headlines for your particular paper and employ the right number of journalists for the story. You must also act as General Manager, Advertising Manager and Publicity Manager setting the price of your paper, the cost of advertisements, salaries of staff, number of staff, commission to advertisement salesmen, number of copies to print and decide what publicity or promotion to is needed. The papers are weekly and you perform these tasks each week for a year - that is unless you are bought out by one of the other Barons before the year is up.

You may borrow money from the bank and each week go to the Takeover exchange to see whether you can take over another newspaper from one of the Barons. Be careful however because they are equally anxious to take over your newspaper.The winner is the Baron left with the highest amount of money in terms of cash and value of his newspapers. You just might manage to get into the High Score table.
