Audiotools is adirect-to-disk audio recorder with the abililty to split a recording intoseparate songs either automatically or under user control. It can alsoperform processing on the audio in real-time (such as equalization, noisegating, rate conversion) and further capabilities can be added as plugins.Audiotools supports 8,16 and 24-bit soundcards and can also processpre-recorded .WAV files (further file types will be made available asplugins later) ecord large audio files direct to disk, limited only by the operating system (WAV files have a 2Gb file size limit - approx 200 minutes at CD quality per file - number of files limited only by your hard disk size). All soundcards are supported from 8-bit to 24-bit, recording at 6KHz to 96KHz.in mono or stereo.

Auto-ear simplifies the setting up of soundcards for beginners. A visual, manual mixer and direct access to the Windows mixer are also available.

Process already recorded files in .WAV (PCM and ACM), .WMA, .WMV, .MP2, .MP3, .AU or .AIFF formats (more to come). Handle individual files, merge files or process lists of files as a batch. Automatically converts all files to a consistent format when merging them.

Record to .WAV (PCM and ACM), .WMA, .WMV, .RM, .VQF, .AU, .AIFF and .MP3 formats (.MP3 requires either the LAME, Gogo or Fraunhoffer plugin). Automatically converts audio to an appropriate format where file formats support limited bit-rates. Allows direct recording from any soundcard into any format (even from 96KHz/24-bit to MP3).

Create CD's with support for normal or disc-at-once recording on most ASPI compatible CD writers. Create CD's from MP3's.

Use other command-line encoders such as Blade or TwinVQ directly from the application.

Automatically split recordings into separate tracks whilst recording using "Auto-track" silence detection mechanism, user-defined chunk sizes or under user control with the track button.Precision manual splitting of pre-recorded material using "Audition" mode with "SoftCue".

Process recordings at up to 4 times their recorded speed for convenience or even faster using the slider control on the Large or 16-colour skins.

Manually split recordings, or adjust automatically split recordings using the quot;Waveform" mode. Extremely powerful visual editing allows you to selectively keep, discard or compress sections of a recording.
