KGY Soft released a new product for control of use of CD in the enterprise network and also on home computers. Now you can easily prevent the using of the CDs with inadmissible (not tested, dangerous) software or with other inappropriate content. Earlier the system administrators had a headache how to provide an access to CD-ROM drives in such a way that CD-ROM would be available for users in their everyday work and at the same time CD-ROM wouldn't be a source of danger of undesirable software intrusion. Many parents would like to protect their children from the PC games stuffed with the scenes of violence and pornography that are quite often distributed on CD-ROMs. Thus, CD Inspector allows you to solve the problem of CD-ROMs access management.

Using CD Inspector the administrator creates a database file of the permitted compact disks and adds the additional CDs there when required. The database file can be placed both on user's PC and on network drive of the server. Every CD medium is to be provided with the certificate with the fixed time period that indicates the time when the CD is available. Administrator can change this time frame at any moment or he might temporary cancel the certificate. The administrator has absolute control of use of CD in the enterprise network since he checks the content of a CD and decides whether the disk should be used.

It's also possible to schedule any OS command after the compact disk is inserted into the CD-ROM drive. It might be a notification command for the administrator or an execution of the special program for the work with this disk. In addition, CD Inspector ejects the compact disk when the work is finished. This might help to avoid the situation when CD with confidential data is left in the CD-ROM drive after the computer is switched off. At request of the administrator some users can gain full access that allows them to use all the CDs and vice versa the administrator can forbid any use of CD-ROM drive.

The program can be installed on every 486¨CPentium computer with Windows NT4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems.
