BugCollector Pro is a powerful, multi-user program, designed
for software development professionals to track error reports and feature requests
from initial report through resolution. BugCollector Pro includes multi-user security
and permissions, a powerful report designer, robust filtering capabilities, automated
email notifications, and much, much more.
Features
Multi-user with optional user logins, permissions and security. You can now
define usernames and passwords, allowing you to specify which users are allowed
to view records, modify records, add record, and/or delete records. BugCollector
Pro 4.1 supports up to 255 simultaneous users.
Automated email notifications. You can now specify that email messages be automatically
sent to individuals or groups in response to certain events, such as when a
new bug report is entered, when a bug report's status changes, etc. Email notifications
can be customized any way you like, and can include data from the record being
entered of modified.
Microsoft Access 2000 support. BugCollector Pro now uses an DAO 3.6 (Access
2000) as it's database engine. This lets you use Access 2000 to create additional
queries and reports, import and export additional data formats, etc.
Automatic update checking. If you are connected to the Internet, BugCollector
Pro 4.1 can automatically check for product updates once a month. You may also
manually check for updates from within the program, ensuring you always have
the latest release
BugCollector Pro Administrator. The new BugCollector Pro Administrator program
(BCPAdmin) allows you to administer users and email, as well as to convert databases
from BugCollector Pro 3.0 and 2.0, and create new databases.
New "Reset Defaults" program clears BugCollector registry entries
to restore all default options.
New fields. "Created By" and "Last Modified By" let you
see at a glance which user added a record, and which user last changed it.
Built-in Report Designer and Report Explorer let you create and organize your
own custom reports. You can even "print" your reports to disk in a
variety of formats, including Word, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, Excel, and more, making
them easy to email.
User-definable charting so you can see your data visually the way you want.
Explorer-style multi-level project tree allows you to organize your projects
in a logical hierarchy.
Powerful filter builder gives you total control over which records you display.
Improved searching, including searching memo fields, makes it easy to find just
the record you are looking for.
Database import and export lets you take a subset of your data on the road and
merge any changes when you return.
Easy handling of multiple databases.
User-definable dropdowns let you customize the lookup values for all fields.
Store file attachments with any records (e.g., screen shots, Word documents,
etc., and launch them for editing from within the program.
Drag-and-drop record organization lets you move records from one project to
another with a click of your mouse.
Project Notes let you store notes, to-dos, etc., at the project level as well
as at the bug/feature request level.
