Below are a few things that you can find out about your hard drive using this program.
You can do a search on the internet for the Hardware Model Number or the Hardware Serial Number and this search will tell you what the specifications of the hard drive are such as:
1. How many gigabytes in size the hard drive is.
2. If the hard drive is 5400, 7200, 10,000 or 15,000 rpms
3. What type of hard drive you have installed. The type of hard drive installed will be IDE, EIDE or SATA.
4. You can find out how much cache memory the drive has.
You can find out more information about your hard drive than just these four things. These four things are just examples of what you can find out about your hard drive. If you want to replace your hard drive with a bigger hard drive or faster hard drive then the four examples mentioned above will be very helpful to you.
Knowing the Firmware Revision Number can be useful in the following situation below:
If your hard drive is working good enough at the hardware level for Hard Drive Identify Version 1.0 to get the Firmware Revision Number then you can use this number if you want to replace the controller card on the hard drive. You have to make sure that the controller card from the new hard drive that you buy has the same Firmware Revision Number as the one on the old hard drive.

You can download the shareware version of the program to check if the program is able to see your hard drive. The shareware version will not show you the Hardware Model Number or Hardware Serial Number. It will only show you the Firmware Revision Number of your hard drives.
The registered and shareware version of Hard Drive Identify Version 1.0 are
self-extracting exe files. Just double click on the exe file you download
and the files will extract. Note: You must be in windows to extract the
files from the self-extracting exe file.
After the files are extracted then copy the files to a floppy disk.
