XYZ Imp is a plug-in for Rhino 2.0. This plug-in gives Rhino the ability to import graphical data from XYZ files.

XYZ files contain a matrix of points from a digitizer or from another software program. XYZImp for Rhino gives Rhino the ability to import a point matrix from XYZ files. You can import the point data as points, lines, polylines, nurb curves, faces or nurb surfaces. XYZ Files can also take the form of Comma Separated Value files (*.csv), Tab Delimited Value files (*.txt), Space Delimited Value files (*.prn) or Digitizer Files (*.asc) or any other ASCII text files.

This plug-in is very easy to use as it adds a new file type to the Rhino File Open dialog box. To import a XYZ file select Open from the File menu. Select "XYZ Files (*.xyz,*.csv,*.txt)" from the "File of type" combo box and select a XYZ file to import. A new drawing will be created containing the imported XYZ file.
