Mud Engineer Drilling Software is designed to make the Daily Mud Report fast and easy instead of a drudgery in that the only entries necessary are the changes that occurred since the last report. Normally the mud engineer , after counting sacks and doing the chemical mud checks can be printing copies of the Daily Report in less than 10 minutes.

The Well Geometry is easily and quickly updated after running casing or changing the BHA by simply copying data from tables for Casing, Drill Pipe, and Tubing that contain all API sizes and grades for each. Since drill collars must be measured at the well site the only entries required are the OD, ID and length and then their capacity, displacement, and weight are automatically calculated.

The program handles up to 3 Triplex pumps and 2 Duplex mud pumps of any size and the only entries required are the liner size, stroke length, and in the case of Duplex pumps the rod size.

The mud chemical checks are entered in a very logical order down to the Remarks section and if desired a section for keeping a well diary with private information that may be useful for the mud Company in designing offset wells.

Up to 28 mud products can be carried, named, and priced. Enter the sack count and the daily usage and costs are automatically calculated. The data is quickly copied to the Recap sheet by one click of the mouse after the mud report is completed.

An information sheet may be printed which gives all pertinent Mud Properties, Volumes, Displacements, and the strokes to the bit and from bit to surface for the entered depth plus 100 foot intervals for the next 1,000 feet of drilling. This information is very "handy" to have available for the driller and Company man.

This program also calculates a "Kill" schedule for well control, Spotting oil for stuck pipe, Blending of liquid muds or weighting up, Equivalent mud weight in the hole for spotting heavy pills, and bit hydraulics with theoretical pump pressure for determining plugged jets, etc.

This program uses API recommended SI/Metric units of measure.
