SSScanner is a full-text search utility which scans within files on your local, network, and CD-ROM drives looking for a given word or phrase . As SSScanner searches for your query, it shows the directory path to the files that match it most of all. The application uses intelligent method of Subject Search which matches your search phrase with the text being searched even if the corresponding text fragment and your search phrase are not exactly the same, some of the words are swapped, not present or spelling varies; searches are supported in any of 39 languages. The product provides each of its findings with a relevancy score shown as a percentage; this helps you to judge whether a particular file does or does not actually contain data of your interest. SSScanner processes files of any format, including text files, documents written under MS Word, HTML, PDF, RTF, HLP formats as well as binary or even executable ones!

Beginning from version 4.5, Kryloff Technologies issues a special edition of SSScanner for CD: SSScanner CD Edition. This product has been developed to let your customers search in contents of documents and files that you are burning and distributing on CD-ROM devices. Being based on the source code of the regular SSScanner utility, CD Edition inherits all of its benefits such as, rich multi-language capabilities, intelligent "Subject Search" technique, easy-to-use product interface, etc. Unlike the regular SSScanner utility, CD Edition does not require any installation on your customer's machines: after being burnt on your CD's along with your documents and data files, this product is ready to search in them right after the user inserts your CD's in the CD-ROM drive. Please, do not mix up SSScanner and SSScanner CD Edition: even though they look alike, these are different products. If you want to use both, you should purchase two licenses, one for SSScanner and another one -- for SSScanner CD Edition.

With SSScanner you may search in 39 different languages. Most of corresponding language dictionaries are included in the latest version. Visit our Multi-language Support page to download required dictionaries. To be able to perform searches in any of the new languages:

Close SSScanner;

Extract the contents of corresponding ZIP archive(s) into the "Languages" subfolder of the SSScanner root folder;

Restart SSScanner;

SSScanner is shipped with all KT filters that are available at time of purchase. As soon as a new Text Filter appears, we add it to the latest version of SSScanner and make it available for free downloading. What's new in version 4.6?

Added was the ability to search in your personal e-mail messages and folders. SSScanner is now capable of providing you with its intelligent search capabilities working with virtually any mail client application (such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.; recommended is Microsoft Outlook, which comes with the Microsoft Office suite of products).

New and fully re-worked DOC and RTF Text Filters allow SSScanner to search in and correctly process RTF files, which for some reason have been given the ".DOC" extension.

SSScanner is integrated with Subject Search Pad and Subject Search Summarizer. This allows the user to select a document listed in the search results, then directly invoke the rest of Kryloff Technologies' products to get the document summary, find similar files, extract, edit, and perform additional full-text searches in its textual contents.
