Firestreamer-DV is software that makes your DV recorder appear as a regular tape drive to other applications running on your computer. This allows you to reliably back up and restore files and folder to and from videotape with existing tape oriented backup software, such as the powerful Microsoft Backup Utility (NTBackup). The backup and restore are fully automated, as with a normal tape drive. You only need to change tape cassettes when prompted.
